Streets2Homes is a charity based in Harlow, Essex that provides a day centre which seeks to reach out to and help those who are facing homelessness or at risk of becoming homeless.  We provide a safe and friendly environment in which we can assist them in a number of ways including securing accommodation.

The demand for housing in this area always outstrips availability so it can take time to find suitable accommodation and we are always looking for good landlords to work with us. The day centre provides a place to access housing advice and practical assistance to secure accommodation, social contact, training sessions, employment advice, health services, washing facilities, food, clothing, general guidance and support.

We cannot do all the work ourselves but we have links with a wide range of agencies and organisations that we can contact to get the appropriate type of assistance to meet the needs of our clients.

OUR MISSION

Streets2Homes offers a safe place for those experiencing homelessness or housing difficulties in our community where they can rest, make friends and access support and practical assistance. We believe that everyone – regardless of age, sex, culture or religion – has the right to adequate income and shelter, opportunities for education and employment, quality healthcare and nutrition, and that everyone should be treated with dignity and respect.

A desire for social justice and a deep and genuine concern for people are characteristics of our work. We help link isolated individuals to services that sometimes discriminates them, and to empower them to start the process of taking control of their lives.

The day centre is open from 9.30am -2pm Monday to Friday providing essential services such as shower facilities, clean clothes, food etc. advice, support and practical assistance.

The office is open from 9am – 5pm Monday to Friday for appointments.
